CHEZ JACKY, LE STUDIO DE PHOTO DE VOS RÊVES, 2006-2010.
En 2006 en duo avec Vincen Beeckman, et avec le soutien de ILES ASBL, nous lançons un projet photographique participatif dans le quartier-nord de Bruxelles. Nous installons dans ce nouveau centre d’entreprises à vocation culturelle un modeste studio dans lequel nous invitons les habitants du quartier et quiconque veut venir nous rencontrer, à se faire photographier. Nous imprimons des petits flyers que nous distribuons dans le quartier et plus largement dans la ville. Le soir du rendez-vous, nous installons nos flashs de studio, nous invitons un DJ pour mettre de la musique et disposons dans de grands sacs à café une quantité impressionante de vêtements et accessoires récoltés dans les puces et autres greniers oubliés. Au fur et à mesure de nos séances de studio, les Halles de Schaerbeek nous invitent durant leurs journées «Super Voisins». Nous faisons voyager le studio dans les écoles du quartier, on nous invite dans le petit bar polonais près de la rue d’Aerschot, dans des cafés du centre, nous installons notre studio à la Grand-Place de Bruxelles, dans des stations de Métro, aux Plaisirs d’hiver sur la place Sainte-Catherine, dans des fêtes liégeoises, au parc Gaucheret, au festival «Les tombées de la nuit» à Rennes, dans les logements sociaux à Anderlecht, des maisons de repos, etc. Nous récoltons un nombre impressionant de portraits plus déjantés et absurdes les uns que les autres, que nous envoyons toujours par mail aux participant.e.s. Au delà du projet photographique c’est la rencontre qui compte, le mélange des publics, l’expérience partagée et aussi souvent la fête ! Petit à petit et au fur et à mesure des invitations, l’équipe du studio s’agrandit. En renfort arrivent Benoît Lorent, Julie Guiches-Studio-Public, Michaël Clémeur, Raphaël Carette, Déborah Robbiano, Gil Roggen et encore d’autres... Toute cette équipe qui sera entre-autre à la base du collectif OST (oiseaux sans tête).

In 2006, as a duo with Vincen Beeckman, and with the support of ILES ASBL, we launched a participatory photographic project in the northern district of Brussels. We set up a modest studio in this new cultural business centre, where we invited local residents and anyone who wanted to come and meet us to have their picture taken. We printed small flyers that we distributed in the neighbourhood and more widely in the city. On the evening of the meeting, we set up our studio flashes, invited a DJ to play music and arranged in large coffee bags an impressive quantity of clothes and accessories collected from flea markets and other forgotten attics. As our studio sessions progressed, the Halles de Schaerbeek invited us during their “Super Voisins” days. We take the studio to schools in the neighborhood, we are invited to the small Polish bar near rue d’Aerschot, to cafés in the center, we set up our studio at the Grand-Place in Brussels, in metro stations, at the Plaisirs d’hiver on Place Sainte-Catherine, at Liège festivals, at Parc Gaucheret, at the “Les tombees de la nuit” festival in Rennes, in social housing in Anderlecht, retirement homes, etc. We collect an impressive number of portraits, each one crazier and more absurd than the last, which we always send by email to the participants. Beyond the photographic project, it is the encounter that counts, the mix of audiences, the shared experience and also often the party! Little by little and as the invitations come in, the studio team is growing. As reinforcements, Benoît Lorent, Julie Guiches-Studio-Public, Michaël Clémeur, Raphaël Carette, Déborah Robbiano, Gil Roggen and others arrive... This entire team will be among other things at the base of the OST collective (birds without heads).
