STÉNOPÉS - Sénégal, 2000.
En 2001, je me rends deux mois au Sénégal dans la ville de Saint-Louis, je suis logé chez une famille dans le quartier Balacoss. Très vite, j’ai envie de mettre en place un atelier photo. Je contacte un ami photographe en Belgique qui m’envoie un kit de base de laboratoire : agrandisseur, papiers et chimies. Nous construisons avec des jeunes chez le menuisier du coin deux sténopés et installons une chambre noire dans la chambre d’un jeune du quartier. De jour en jour, il réalisent des images de leur quartier de leur ville.

In 2001, I went to Senegal for two months in the city of Saint-Louis, I stayed with a family in the Balacoss district. Very quickly, I wanted to set up a photo workshop. I contacted a photographer friend in Belgium who was in charge of the photo workshop in my region. He sent me a basic laboratory kit: enlarger, papers and chemicals. We built two pinhole cameras with a few young people at the local carpenter's and set up a darkroom in the bedroom of a young person from the neighborhood. Day by day, they took pictures of their neighborhood and their city.
